DIAL welcomes its incoming CEO

The Digital Impact Alliance (DIAL) team is pleased announce the appointment of Kate Wilson as its CEO, effective 8 February, 2016.

Kate brings over 25 years of experience advising companies and non-governmental organizations on technology solutions and market entry strategies in emerging markets.  She joins DIAL from PATH, the Seattle-based international health organization driving transformative innovation to save lives.  She serves as Director, Digital Health Solutions, a group she co-founded in 2009, leading a global team who supports PATH’s work in health information systems analysis, design and delivery throughout Africa and Asia.

Kate joined PATH in September 2007 after successful careers in international trade and the commercial software industry.  She spent over 10 years managing new software and hardware product development and launch, strategic planning and business development for companies such as Microsoft, Intel, and General Electric.  Prior to joining the private sector, Kate spent nine years in trade, including serving as President of the Washington Council on International Trade and the Director for Indonesia Affairs at the U.S. ASEAN Council.

Kate holds an M.B.A. and an M.A. in Southeast Asian studies from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a B.A. in international relations from the College of William and Mary.

Kate will join the DIAL team on 8 February 2016.  In the meantime, UN Foundation Vice-President for Strategic Planning and Implementation Andrew Axelrod and Beth Gertz will continue to serve as the interim leadership team and DIAL’s primary points of contact.

Andrew Axelrod serves as the Vice President for Strategic Planning and Implementation at the UN Foundation, where he leads the Foundation’s strategic planning, project management, and monitoring and evaluation functions. As part of this role, Andrew has been leading the interim DIAL leadership team since its inception.

Beth Gertz has been serving as an interim DIAL leadership team member since its inception. Her contribution spans all aspects of DIAL design and launch, from development of the organization strategy and program portfolio to partnership development to communications. Beth is also the Managing Director of Seven Hills Advisors, a social impact strategy consultancy that specializes in the design of multi-stakeholder partnership and program design. Her expertise includes global health and nutrition, financial inclusion, economic development for women and digital development.
