Africa is poised to become a leader in Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), building on its success in digital payments and mobile transactions. While challenges persist, African nations are taking aggressive steps to harness the transformative potential of DPI.

As part of its five-year strategy, the Digital Impact Alliance partnered with Dalberg Advisors to conduct a study to capture and evaluate the common drivers of digital transformation in exemplar countries, such as Kenya, and develop the Digital Drivers Template.

Can mobile network operator data can be used for public good? We explore if data and analytics could provide a novel and insightful stream of routine information that could be triangulated with more traditional datasets to enhance policy, decision-making, and, ultimately, access to core public services.

Developing and delivering a vision and agenda for national digital transformation is key to unlocking the full potential of the digital economy in Africa.
