Yet, to truly understand the full impact of DPI – and ensure it is maximized for the public benefit – robust, standardized metrics are needed. In this Call to Action, we explore why a common reference framework is key to aligning measurements, reducing fragmentation, and realizing DPI’s full benefit.

In the digital era, data is critical – with the power to meaningfully benefit people and communities across the world. However, to ensure this promise is realized, while also protecting against potential risks, robust, trustworthy data infrastructure is critical. With its mission-driven focus, philanthropy can play a pivotal role in this endeavor. To set this foundation, our call to action paper outlines several “big bets” for philanthropists which – together – can advance a positive digital future.
